- OTC tax liens may be purchased online Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), from 8 am to 3 pm.
- How to bid
- Annual sale (2026 rules): register at MyTax.DC.gov, bring a minimum deposit of 20% of your total purchase budget, bid in person with your number card, and pay the balance within five business days after the last day of the sale. Over the counter: buy liens bid off to the District online Monday through Friday, 8 am to 3 pm, and pay in full the same day at OTR's Cashier's Office or by wire. OTR posts a buyer's book, FAQ and sale list on its tax lien sale page.
