How to bid
In-person sale at 140 Eagle Rock Avenue, Level 2A. Every bidder must register in advance by sending the Bidder Information Sheet and a W-9 to the Tax Collector; there is no same-day registration, and bidder numbers are sent by email. Payment at the sale is by certified funds, cash, money order or wire transfer, with separate checks for tax, utility and premiums. The certificate is issued after the sale and must be recorded with the Essex County Clerk within 90 days. Deposit and interest terms are not stated on the borough page.
