- Register at the auction on sale day (registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m. when the auction starts). Bidding is oral; bidders must be present or represented by an agent. The minimum bid is the total of taxes, penalty, interest and costs due. Payment by cashier's check, money order, or personal or company check only with a letter of guarantee. The state issues a tax deed equivalent to a quitclaim deed; sales are final with no refunds.
