- Auctions are held in person at Springfield City Hall. Under the terms of sale for the February 2026 auction, each property (acquired by the City through tax foreclosure) required a $5,000 deposit by certified check, verified before the auction started, and carried a 5% buyer's premium; the balance was due at closing. The prior owner or anyone acting for them, and anyone who owes the City money, cannot buy.
