- In-person open auction; sealed bids are not allowed and an accepted oral bid is a binding contract to buy. Bid numbers are issued from 4:15 p.m. on sale day after the office checks the bidder for delinquent taxes. The minimum bid covers delinquent taxes, interest, fees and costs. Payment is expected the night of the auction by cash, check, certified check, bank approval letter or credit card (2.75% card fee). Winning bidders show a driver's license or state ID and sign the purchaser affidavit. No deposit is stated.
