- Attend the sale in person; registration opened at 10 a.m. and the sale at 11 a.m. at the Jeffrey Memorial Center, 315 W. Pine Street, Rawlins. The county does not sell the property itself: it sells its tax lien for the taxes, interest and costs, and issues a certificate of purchase on the day of the sale. The lien earns 15% interest from the sale date, plus a 3% penalty on the amount purchased; later taxes paid by the certificate holder earn the same 15%. The notice of sale is published for three consecutive weeks in a county legal newspaper. Deposit, payment methods and bidding format are not stated.
