- Live auction at Memorial Hall, Independence. For the 2026 sale, pre-registration was offered at the Independence Treasurer's Office; bidders who did not pre-register had to arrive early on sale day to register. Payment by cash, cashier's check, or personal check with a bank letter of credit dated no more than one day before the sale, plus a $21 recording fee per parcel. People with delinquent taxes may not get a bidder number or take part. No deposit is stated.
