- This is not a bidding auction: investors take an assignment of the county's tax lien by paying the delinquent taxes, penalty, interest and costs. Butte-Silver Bow's page gives the fees: a $65.00 assignment fee, a $25.00 Treasurer's cost for a tax deed and $25.00 for redemption of an assignment. The office does not handle tax lien assignments in November and May. Interested buyers must do their own research; the county gives no legal advice. Lottery or priority rules for competing buyers are not stated; contact the Treasurer.
