How to bid
The annual auction is online: the county's 2026 event page says to view the lots and get a bid number at www.CattCoAuction.com. The county also holds occasional in-person parcel auctions; for the October 2026 South Dayton sale the high bidder had to present a 10% bid deposit at the auction in cash or certified check, and no sale could be completed until the County Legislature approved the high bid (it accepts or rejects within 30 days). Deposit and buyer's premium for the online auction are not stated on the county pages.
