How to bid: The Oconto County Treasurer sells land taken by tax foreclosure through Wisconsin Surplus Online Auction Services. The page says there is a bid-closing deadline every month; after an auction closes, the bids go to the county's Administration Committee at its monthly meeting. The winning bidder pays Wisconsin Surplus directly by the deadline on its invoice; if payment isn't received in time, the parcel goes back up for auction. Deposit, minimum bid and buyer fees are not stated on the county page; Wisconsin Surplus (800-383-7653) handles bidding and payment questions, and the Treasurer (920-834-6813) handles questions about the land sale process.
