Format: In person
Schedule: The City of St. Louis holds land tax sales several times a year.
How to bid: Pre-register online at least 10 days before the sale (one application per person or business); the Sheriff checks that the bidder has no delinquent city property taxes, unpaid special tax bills or pending building or housing code violations. Approved bidders get an email and pick up a bidder number on the first sale day with a valid State ID. Sales begin at 9:00 am outdoors on the 11th Street side of the Civil Courts Building, and bidding starts at the taxes owed. Pay by cashier's check or money order to 'Sheriff City of St. Louis' by 2:00 PM on the sale day, with a separate $150.00 payment per parcel; cash is no longer accepted.
