How to bid
Open public auction held in person by the Clerk and Master, once a year. Properties are sold one year after the delinquent taxes are turned over to the office, and the property list is posted on the county website about one month before the sale. The winning bidder must pay the full amount the same day, in cash or cashier's check only. Property is sold 'as is and where is'; research it on the Tennessee Comptroller's assessment site. The sale is not complete until the Chancellor signs the Order Confirming Sale, and the owner may redeem for one year from that order (purchase price refunded with interest).
