How to bid
The county refers qualified properties to its attorney, and the Circuit Court appoints a special commissioner of sale, who may sell by private bid, public auction (held on the steps of the County Courthouse) or a listing with a real estate agent. A minimum deposit based on a percentage of the bid price may be required on the sale date, with the balance due within a set time. Property is sold as is; buyers pay for title searches, recording costs and grantor's tax, and bids that do not cover the taxes and sale costs may be rejected. Registration steps are not stated; call the attorney for sale details.
