- Per the county's 2026 tax sale page: pre-register by the posted deadline (Friday, February 20, 2026 for the 2026 sale) with a $25.00 non-refundable fee per company, a registration form (the county's or your own) and a W-9, and include blank check(s) for purchases. One representative may act for up to 10 registered companies. Bidder numbers are drawn at random; bidder 1 picks a property number first, then bidder 2 and so on until all lots are sold or unsold. Properties are numbered from highest to lowest amount. Each certificate carries a $20.00 fee (not refunded on redemption) and each assignment $20.00. Lists are published in the Hastings Tribune and posted online as Excel and PDF, updated weekly. Deposit: not stated.
