- Bidders sign up at the Treasurer's Office at least fifteen minutes before the auction and get a bidder number; there is no charge. Mail-in bids with a cashier's check for the bid amount are accepted until 5 p.m. the last working day before the sale and become the opening bid if they meet the minimum. Payment in full (cash, debit or credit card with a 2.5% fee, money order or cashier's check) is due by 3 p.m. the next business day. Bids below the minimum bid, which includes the cost of the sale, may be refused. The sale does not guarantee title; a quitclaim deed is issued after recording.
