Tax sales are held the first Tuesday of each month for the months in which we plan a tax sale. If the tax sale falls on a holiday, the sale will take place on the first Wednesday.
How to bid
Bidders must attend; mail, phone or fax bids are not accepted, and bidders must show identification such as a driver's license. A bidder sign-up link is on the Tax Commissioner's page. The sale runs between 10 AM and 4 PM; the opening bid is the tax due plus penalties and other applicable costs, and the Tax Deed (not the property) goes to the highest bidder. A recognized bid is binding. Payment in full, in cash or certified check payable to the Rockdale County Tax Commissioner, is due within one hour of the sale. Owners may redeem for no less than 12 months after the sale.
