How to bid
Register in advance (registration opens at least 30 days before the sale; no onsite registration on sale day) using the county's online bidder registration, and bring photo ID. Bids are made in person at the public auction at the Greenville Convention Center, 1 Exposition Drive; properties are sold in alphabetical order by the defaulting taxpayer's last name, opening at the delinquent taxes, penalties and costs. The winning bid must be paid in full the day of the sale in cash, postal money order, cashier's check or certified check; failing to pay can bring a $500 per-property charge.
