Pennsylvania tax sales
deed state
Pennsylvania sells the delinquent property itself rather than a lien. In most counties the county Tax Claim Bureau runs the sales under the Real Estate Tax Sale Law. The annual upset sale must be scheduled no earlier than the second Monday of September and before October 1, and many counties hold a continued upset sale and a judicial sale in December. A judicial sale offers the property freed of liens, and property still unsold goes to a repository for private bids. The law allows no redemption after the actual sale, so owners must pay before it. Philadelphia instead sells tax-delinquent property through Sheriff's sales held online on Bid4Assets.
