How to bid: Per the county's 2026 Notice to Tax Sale Purchaser (check for the 2027 notice): bidders place bids online at the Iowa Tax Auction site and need not be at the courthouse. Every registration step had to be finished by the deadline in the notice (11:59 p.m. on June 11, 2026, for that sale), with a non-refundable $56.00 registration fee paid by ACH debit. Each parcel is offered starting at a 100% undivided interest and bidders bid down in whole points; the certificate goes to the bidder naming the smallest percentage, with ties broken at random. The total due is taken by ACH debit from the registration account, plus a $20.00 certificate fee per certificate. Redemption interest is 2% per month. Deposit: not stated.
