How to bid: The sale is held at the Casey County Clerk's office in Liberty. Third-party purchasers register by the clerk's deadline with non-refundable fees ($5.00 per priority certificate and $10.00 per current-year certificate; up to 5 bills $10.00 per bill, 6 or more bills $250.00) and deposits (100% of each priority certificate and 25% of the total of current-year certificates). Buyers above the state's thresholds must also register with the Department of Revenue at least 60 days before buying. Purchasers take turns in rounds, like a sports draft, in an order set by random drawing, and may buy only bills on their submitted current-year list. Full payment plus a $46.00 assignment recording fee is due on the day of the sale; the page's list of accepted payment forms is inconsistent, so confirm with the clerk. All sales are final.
