How to bid: This is not a bidding auction: registered third-party purchasers take turns picking certificates of delinquency in an order set by a random drawing. Kenton runs an automated sale. For 2026, purchasers registered by July 6 at 4 p.m. and emailed a spreadsheet listing certificates in the order they want to purchase them. The registration fee was $10.00 per tax bill for buyers under the statutory limits (3 or fewer in Kenton, 5 or fewer statewide, under $10,000 statewide) and $250.00 above them. The county page does not describe how the order among purchasers is set.
