How to bid: Register in writing with the Treasurer's Office 10 working days before the sale using the county registration form. Bids are for the 6-month interest rate, starting at 9% and going down to 0%; the lowest bid wins. This year's sale is not live bidding: bids are submitted on a flash drive (RAMS 2) brought to the Treasurer's office on the sale date, and mail, phone and fax bids are not accepted. Taxes must be paid right after the sale closes (personal or business check, cashier's check or cash). Certificates are mailed about a week later. The tax sale does not clear liens from the property.
