The annual tax sale occurs in late October for properties with unpaid tax bills.
How to bid
Complete the Tax Sale Buyer Packet (email the Treasurer's office or call 217-384-3743) and return it no later than 10 business days before the sale. Fees added to each parcel bought: $20.00 indemnity, $10.00 tax sale automation, $60.00 interest fee and $4.00 County Clerk fee. Delinquent mobile home taxes go through the same annual tax sale procedures as real estate. Deposit and bidding method are not stated on the page.
