How to bid: Send the registration with the $250 registration fee and a Single Bidder Affidavit so it arrives two weeks (10 business days) before the sale; first-time buyers also complete the First Time Buyer Disclosure. The sale is open outcry, and you or your registered representative must be physically present to bid; there is no bidding by mail, phone or internet. Taxes must be paid immediately after the close of the sale. Lists cost $70. Boone County, as trustee for the taxing districts, buys all tax liens that get no other bidder; there is no scavenger sale.
