No 2026 sale date posted on the Treasurer's pages. The FAQ says delinquent taxes are offered at a tax sale "At the end of October", and the Tax Information page says registration depends on the sale date and buyers must contact the office.

The tax sale is has to be held within 90 days after the 2nd installment due date, dates to be determined by Treasurer.
How to bid
Contact the Treasurer's Office by phone or email to get a registration; you must be a registered buyer to attend. There is a $500 registration fee (forfeited if you don't show) and an optional $200 delinquent list, as two separate checks to the Winnebago County Treasurer. First-time buyers need a bank letter stating how much they are good for. Live auction, no phone or internet bids; buyers bid a percentage rate capped at 9%.
