How to bid: Register with the Treasurer's office within 10 days of the sale and pay the $250 registration fee, which goes toward your first $250 in taxes and is non-refundable if you do not attend. Buyers sign an affidavit under the single-bidder rule, 35 ILCS 200/21-205 (b-5). Bidding is electronic: R.A.M.S. bids are entered on a keypad, or R.A.M.S. 2 bids are presented on a flash drive and uploaded; the lowest interest rate wins, and the system randomly breaks R.A.M.S. 2 ties. Pay for all taxes and fees purchased before leaving the building after the sale. The delinquent list costs $100 and is emailed only. Only mobile home taxes are offered to private buyers.
