How to bid: Register on the online auction site and place a non-refundable deposit of 5% of the bid or $200, whichever is greater, no later than 4:00 p.m. the day before the sale (ACH through the auction site, or cashier's check, money order or certified check at the Clerk's Office, Room 1054). Winning bidders pay the balance and deed fees by 4:00 p.m. the next business day after the sale. Tax certificates are sold separately by the Tax Collector in an online sale each spring, with a bidder deposit of $100 or 10% of the amount you want to bid, whichever is greater.
