Upcoming sales

No specific tax deed sale dates on the Clerk's FAQ pages; dates are on the online auction site (link-only). The Tax Collector's tax deed page says that for auctions on or after August 6, 2025 redemptions go through the Tax Collector, so check both offices for current procedure. The 2027 tax certificate sale date is not yet posted (set in the Tax Collector's advertisement).

How to bid: Tax deeds: register on the online auction site and post a deposit with the Clerk before the sale: $200 or 5% of the winning bid, whichever is greater. In-person deposits are due by 4:00 p.m. the day before the sale (ACH takes 3-5 working days, wires about 24 hours). Sales start at 10:00 a.m. CT on scheduled sale days, and final payment is due by 11:00 a.m. CT the day after the sale. Tax certificates: register on LienHub before the sale (returning buyers activate their existing registration); bidding is electronic starting at 18%, and buyers must deposit 10% of anticipated purchases by ACH.
