How to bid: Sales are held in person in the front lobby of the Courthouse in Port St. Joe and start at 11:00 AM EST, continuing until all scheduled auctions are done. Register in person fifteen (15) minutes before the sale; you cannot register or bid by mail or internet. The high bidder pays a nonrefundable deposit of 5% of the bid or $200, whichever is greater, at the time of sale; the balance plus documentary stamp tax and recording fees is due within 24 hours, excluding weekends and legal holidays. Only cash or certified funds are accepted (no personal or business checks, debit or credit cards); the Clerk keeps no escrow accounts, and cash of $10,000 or more needs IRS Form 8300.
