How to bid: Tax deed sales are held online; instructions on deposits, bidding and payments are on the auction website. The deposit is $200 or 5% per sale; walk-in deposits must be made more than one hour before the sale, and online ACH deposits at least 4-5 business days before. Computers with access to the auction site are available at the Clerk's office in the Historical Courthouse. Payment deadline not stated on the Clerk's pages. Tax certificates are sold separately by the Tax Collector in an annual sale; unsold certificates go to the county and can be bought at any time.
